Networking

Networking is another facet to the writing of romance that enhances our ability to get our name out there. Blogging is one way. I love the comments (as, I'm sure, we all do) from you all who take the time to leave one. It also helps me know whether to keep writing here or not. So keep at it one and all - even if it's just to say hello.
Networking either face-to-face or online can provide us with answers to our professional questions and build those professional relationships we all need in this business.
I have been busy this week setting up some social networking pages and we all know how much time can be wasted there!! LOL But in the process I have learned a little (the tip of the iceberg really) about some basic webpage editing. Also found another photo site I like which includes an editor so I can fuss over my pix a bit more. WOW, there goes another major chunk of time.
Anway, I would encourage you to take a look at myspace.com/annie_doyle. Please add me as a friend as I would love to see you there.
Regards
Annie

Networking is the author's life blood these days, but I'm beginning to question the value of some groups/loops. Many of them seem to just be a place for people to bitch and moan. Recently I unsubscribed from four groups because they send out too much useless e-mail.

I've been toying with the idea of starting a MySpace page, but since I don't have anything published yet, I don't really have anything to present other than what's already on my web site.

Your website is great Chicki, I wouldn't think you'd have time to input anywhere else. Those 'other' places are time wasters if you don't see any benefit.

Hey Suz
When you find those extra three days of the week can you let me know how you did it. But then I think you are a pretty organized kind of gal from what I've heard!!!LOL With the office space to die for.

Hi Annie,
Yes, networking is a great tool, as you know I have sites, all over the place. I find I have to organise my time (not something that is working too well ATM) LOL.

The one thing I've found though, is that the people I have met the past few months are wonderful. I think it's because they get me. They, like you, understand the writing thing.

Have a great weekend.

Hugs
Sandie

Sandie and Suz, Aaah time, the precious commodity. If only someone could figure out how we could use our sleep time to write. I had a lovely romance story dream last night then couldn't sleep while I tried to write it in my head. LOL
